Baby Maya

Maddie spent saturday visiting with Aunt Alissa and Baby Maya. Maddie kept pointing to Aunt Alissa's belly saying "Maya out." She wanted so badly for Maya to come out and play with her!! Maddie gave Maya Kisses and when Alissa said "you'll have to teach Maya her ABC's and 123's," Maddie went to get her ABC's, sat them on Alissa's stomach and started telling Maya her ABC's. It was hysterical!!! I also finally got a video on my phone of Maddie saying her ABC's, but I can't figure out how to get it downloaded on here. It keeps giving me error messages.....so hopefully soon!!

Lead Test results

I cannot believe that I forgot to post this after letting you all know that we had to take Maddie for a lead test and how aweful it was!! We got a call a couple of weeks ago letting us know that that the results of the test were wonderful!! Her lead level is only at a 3, which she informed us is the normal level to have in your body. I was so relieved!! Going through all that was definatly worth it for some peace of mind. With all these toys from China being recalled on top of living in an older home, I was so worried! We had also taken her to the eye doctor because she was always complaining about her right eye. We received a clean bill of health there as well. Its kind of strange too, because after the eye doctor appointment, she doesnt complain much about her eye any more.......probably because she never wants to go back there again!!! :-)

Maddie is also very excited about Aunt Alissa having a baby. She is always talking on her phone to baby Maya. I have a video recorded on my phone of her doing this, and its so cute! I wish I knew how to download it on here. I almost feel as though I get to re-live my pregnancy through Alissa......its very exciting!!!

Making Progress.....

Ok, so I know I'm really bad at updating this blog! I guess I just haven't gotten use to it yet. (Thank you Nicole for cracking the whip and making me stay on top of it) :-)

There is so much progress being made on my mom and dads house!! The picture above was just a few days ago, but it really doesnt show the house as it is. It is now completely closed in, and all windows have been installed. As of right now, the move-in date is set for April. Which then of course means that we have our own house!! :-) Dave and I are so excited about all of this, and I'm very excited to be buying the house that I grew up in! On top of all the great memories I have here as a child, Maddie (and hopefully her brother or sister.......nope, no news to report) will be able to create their own wonderful memories!

Madilyn is talking more than ever!!! She says her ABC's, only skipping over IJK and UVW. She even goes into...."now I know my ABC's, next time wont you sing with me." She is also counting 1 thru 10 and only skipping 4 and 7. I know I'm a little bias, but I think she's doing so great for being 21 months! She's growing like a weed!! She was wearing size 5 shoe, and I noticed they seemed to be getting small. I took her to get new shoes, and when they measured her feet they told me she was at the 6 1/2 mark, so she should wear a size 7!!!! WHAT ON EARTH!! I really dont think this is the same girl that only weighed 6 lbs 13 oz the day she was born......almost 2 yrs ago.

Christmas was wonderful!!

Christmas was absolutly wonderful! Madilyn woke up about 6:00 (very early for her) and was ready to go! She went right to her stocking and had a blast opening everything that Santa brought her. Soon after, she was soooo tired, she went back to bed for another hour. Finally she woke up and was ready to go for the day. She knew just what to do with her presents and wanted to play with everything as she opened them. Between Daddy and Uncle Sean, they were able to get everything open and I swear, she actually played with EVERYTHING! She loves her Little People Noah's arc that Santa brought her and her Little People Farm that Uncle Rob got her. She had a blast staying at home with daddy all week and playing basketball with her Little Tykes hoop from Uncle Sean and Aunt Jen. We spent the morning with the Hoyt side and the evening with the Mealy side. Im ready to take our first annual Christmas day tradition next year, and have all the family come over to our house! :-) We had to take Maddie yesterday to have blood drawn for a Lead test. It was the worst experience ever!!! I had to sit and hold Maddie in my lap while holding her right arm down so she couldnt move it. Dave had to stand and hold her left arm straight she wouldnt move while the woman was drawing the blood. As a mom, it was so hard to see my child going through that! The funniest part of the experience was when Maddie pointed to the calander and said...."CLAUSE." It was a picture of a huge fluffy cat with a santa hat on!!!! We hope you all have a wonderful New Year and hope that 2008 brings you nothing but wonderful things!!

Maddie has Croupe :-(

Well, we're definatly ending 2007 with a bang! Maddie has Croupe AGAIN! She just got over it about a month and a half ago and now she's got it again! I woke up with what seems to be the beginning of a cold, so now we just need to pass it along to Dave (which I pray doesnt happen) and we'll be set! We took Madilyn to Santa's workshop and she had a blast making her toy with the elves. This year, however, she would not sit on Santa's (Maddie refers to him as just "clause") lap. She did blow him kisses and talked to him, but she stayed in my arms the whole time! I've been told there are a few more years just like this ahead. She does love to talk about "Clause" and loves to see his picture. When asked if she wants Santa to come and if she's been a good girl this year, she answers both questions with YESSSSS! Well, this is my first attempt at a blog.......we'll see how well I keep up!

Have a wonderful HOLIDAY! I hope Clause brings you everything your little hearts desire!
